Installation is Simple: MIE Backhoe Thumbs Clamp onto Backhoe Dipper Stick Requiring No Welding, Drilling or any other Modification of Your Backhoe.
No Need to Take the Thumb off of Your Backhoe When You Don't Need It; MIE Thumbs Conveniently Fold into the Storage Position Clear of the Bucket, Allowing You to Dig Without the Thumb Interfering with Your Work.
Michigan Iron and Equipment Offers two Different Styles of Backhoe Thumbs for Manual Adjustment: One style involves a Mini Top Link to adjust the Thumb Position, The other Style Utilizes a Solid Link that can be Moved to Different Positioning Holes on the Dipper Stick and Thumb.
MIE Backhoe Thumbs are Available in Manual Adjustment and Hydraulic Adjustment. Hydraulic Thumbs Adjust Utilizing a Double-Acting Cylinder. The Cylinder is Controlled by an Independent Selector Valve Conveniently Located on the Operator Control Platform.

Excavator Thumbs are Available in Hydraulic or Manual Adjustment as well. Manual Adjustment Thumbs Utilize a Solid Link with Positioning Holes Located on the Dipper Stick Mount and Thumb. The Thumb Pictured above is a 12- Position Thumb.
Unlike Backhoe Thumbs, Excavator Thumbs are not offered in a Clamp-On Style. These Units must be Welded onto the Dipper Stick of your Excavator.
